Cpu Upgrade

Go to solution Solved by VVoltor,

Not the best deal but also not a terrible price if you get it from a reputable seller. You can buy them in CEX for that money: https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id=scpuinti57500a with a year warranty

Otherwise you can get them a little cheaper maybe on Gumtree or something.

Would be a pretty nice upgrade though.

Hi All,

I am in no dire need to upgrade my CPU but i was browsing around for ideas, and came across a pre-owned I5-7500 for £105.

Would this be worth to buy especially at this price.

My current CPU is a Intel Pentium G4560 and really doesn't cut it for Battlefield 1 at least.

Any help and advice will be very much appreciated.

Regards, Midgitwarrior.

It would be an upgrade for sure.  4 real cores are better than 2 cores and 2 Hyperthreads.  For $100...... not so sure.

@VVoltor Yeah I found it on CEX myself and they do 2 year warranty's now. And 1 final question is there a difference between the i5-7500 and the i5-6400 since CEX also have them for £90, but if the 7500 is better i dont mind shelling another £15 towards it.

The 7500 is clocked higher, has better integrated graphics (whatever), and officially supports slightly faster RAM.

I'd say it's worth the extra 15 quid, mainly for the higher clockspeed
