Hi guys :)

So I have an ASUS AIO pc that I am wanting to upgrade (for obvious reasons). I recently acquired a 4gb stick of ddr3l ram for the system for free. I was wondering if it would be possible to use it with the current 2x2gb config that the computer has.

Thanks!

No, but if you get another one it should be possible to run them in dual-channel and have 8GB

It  COULD work, but it may not work. The ram like have to b compatible with the motherboard and each other.  Even if the ram has the same timings, they may still not work together. Assuming you have easy access to the ram slot, you could always try and see what happens.

for this saying that mixing ram can’t work, I have had three different ram manufacturers and 2 different capacities and they worked with zero issues. However if they did have problems it could become a nightmare very easily.
