I have a new computer. Win7 Pro.

The other systems in the Workgroup model (no domain at my house) are also Win7 pro

I have a USB-shared HP Printer on my main PC

The other systems can see it under Network, but any attempt to connect to it and they get "access denied"

Printer permissions and network/file sharing are properly set.

Turning off the firewall on the main system didn't make a difference.

This seems like it should be a simple problem, yet I'm out of ideas.

I've googled the issue and attempted all the suggestions from the 1st page, clearly no success.

I'm willing to bet I've overlooked something simple and stupid, and perhaps I'm overthinking this problem, so your assistance it greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Including File and Printer Sharing under Network and Sharing Centre > Advanced Sharing Settings

Are you able to access shared folders and files between systems?

The only shared folders I have are a NAS.

Let me try to create a shared folder on the system that has the printer, and I'll get back to this post.

Hold Please!

I set up a temp share directory, with permissions of "everyone" and that worked.
