Original Xbox

Hey, I had this Xbox but it stop booting up so my thought is that it was either the motherboard or power supply. So a few years past and I wanted to play some old games I had, so I go out and buy a new Xbox and I wanted to keep my save files, so I took the old hard drive and I put it in the new one but it gave me an error which was contact customer support.

Are you talking about the xbox from 2001 or xbox 360?

Not sure but maybe the drive is locked to the one you took it out of.

You cannot swap hard drives in the original XBOX One as the console's EEPROM checks the serial number of the drive to ensure it matches upon bootup. You might be able to bypass this with a modchip, however, I'm not privy to modding the original XBOX One as I was a Free McBoot softmodder with Sony's Playstation 2 slim console during this time instead.

I could just transfer the saves files. I just need to connect them to the pc and use the Xplorer360 program.

I do have a xbox 360 if i can do anything on that, that would help my problem

So, I tried the other power supply for the motherboard that's connected to the hard drive. It didn't turn on, so the only option is that the motherboard is broken.

I just need to get save files from one hard drive and move it to another, both Xbox are not modded
