so i may be getting a Ryzen3 2200g (on newegg) and was gonna pair it with a msi 1050 ti but would that set up be good at all?

That would be fairly good, as in pretty good 1080p gaming leaving open options into other areas. Not really much to say about it.

Whats your budget? Getting a dedicated GPU will render the GPU portion of your AMD APU useless! Not a worthwhile investment.

The GPU partition of the chip will be useless but the CPU portion was shown in benchmarks to still be able to outperform or match the performance of similarly priced chips such as that of the i3 8100 and Ryzen 3 1300x. Although Intel will always have a slight edge due to optimsation.

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

the reason why i'd be getting one with a gpu portion is because i want to at least use it then upgrade with the 1050 ti (so i don't have to wait a few more months)

It depends on the games you want to play , what i did when build my computer is that i asked myself what am i going to use that computer for and i said a bit of gaming photoshop html that kind of stuff after that i said what gpu should i get so i watched a lot of videos with the games i want to play and most important is that the people playing the game had the same gpu , i know that a more powerfull cpu or more ram can make the difference so i went and did that for the rest of the system i watched guys playing games with the same amount of ram or the same cpu and it all worked out for the end.
