It shouldn't matter much if you place your PSU fan side down, which is what I would normally do. Maybe a few degrees hotter GPU, but nothing drastical.

Main rig: i7 8086K // EVGA Z370 Micro // 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL14 // Sapphire Pulse RX 7800XT// a variety of noctua cooling // Corsair RM750x v2 //  Fractal Meshify C

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Audio setup: Audient iD4 // Adam A7X // Sennheiser HD 650 // Sennheiser HD 25-II // Audio Technica M50x // Sennheiser Momentum 4

Why should place PSU fan side down? Should the bottom of the case be used for air intake?

Unless you plan on blocking the airflow from under the case (by placing the computer on a rug for example).

It'll look a bit nicer with the shroud unless you have a really nice PSU.

Mounting  fan side down also prevents screws or other unwanted foreign materials from falling into the PSU if there is no shroud. BUT it should only be done if there is a filtered air intake on the bottom for the PSU.Which your case has.

PSU fan is always intake. Placing it fan down excludes it from cases airflow. Having shroud with that orientation is just for esthetic reasons. If you have many HDDs under it, you might want to have bottom intake fan to keep them cool. PSU fan up is going to suck some air from GPU. Not much as case is spacious. But I'd still say only have it that way if you are going to have case on thick carpet, like @chckovsky said.

PSU shrouds tend to worsen airflow mainly for the graphics card according to GamersNexus.

I wonder why :) Maybe because it blocks lower front intake fan, and bottom fan.
