Tried a bios upgrade and do u have u the latest version of the program for changing RGB?

Already on 4.60, I suppose I could try re-flashing it. The utility was downloaded straight from AsRock's site right before use.

Edit: Just heard back from AsRock support. Those guys are fast. I love it! Going to be that guy that marks it solved on my own post, just wasn't expecting to hear back so quickly.

So I downloaded AsRock's RGB LED utility last night to change the lighting on my chipset heatsink, something I've done many times. It started a firmware check, then the program crashed. The chipset heatsink LED went bright white and froze, and doesn't respond to the AsRock RGB program or changes in BIOS. It also doesn't turn off with the computer. It's just stuck as a static, solid, bright white. Anyone know of a fix?

Running Windows 10 on an R7 1700, Corsair RGB RAM (2x8GB), and an AsRock X370 Taichi, of course.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

  • 4 years later...

I am having exactly the same issue because I, too, downloaded and ran AsRock's RGB LED software. but sadly there's no mention of a solution in this post though its marked as solved.
Current Bios version is 7.30 and I tried everything but I can't get the chipset leds to turn off like I did when I first set up my system.

Any help would greatly be appreciated with the solution to this problem.

I dug through my old emails, and the solution was AsRock sending me new LED firmware to flash. After the new firmware was flashed, the problem was resolved. The link I was sent for the firmware has been dead for, oh, five-ish years now? AsRock probably still has the firmware and could send it to you if you get in touch with them.

First of all thank you for replaying and so quickly on a 5 year old post. So this is a problem which can't be fixed without contacting Asrock. Should I contact Asrock support or make a post about it on Asrock forums?

I'd open a ticket just in case they think something else is up and want to check that out before you flash firmware.

Well I wrote to asrock technical support via their website. they have sent me an automated email saying their technical staff will contact me soon. I will post here when they do hopefully, with a solution.

Update:

Finally got an email response from ASRock TSD today and the issue has now been resolved with a simple solution which is as follows since it might be useful for the same problem should somebody else faces it.

Copying it as it was received from ASRock TSD;
======================

1.Completely uninstall RGB control utility, all remaining files need to be removed and reinstall the latest ASRock RGB LED.

Download link: https://download.asrock.com/Utility/RGB/RGBLED(v1.0.43).zip
2.Rewrite RGB firmware, you can follow the steps below.

Rewrite RGB firmware setup.
Step1. Run CMD as administrator
Step2. Input "cd C:\Program Files (x86)\ASRock Utility\ASRRGBLED\Bin"
Step3. Make sure ASRock RGB LED is closed.
Step4. Input "wICPFLASH.exe /file=nu51_1.10"
============================================
please mark this as a solution
