I want to purchase NVMe SSD for my desktop. But my motherboard (Asus B85M-G) doesn't have M.2 port but has PCIe 3.0 X16 slot. Is it worth buying an adapter(PCIe X16 to M.2) ?? Will that affect the performance of SSD?

Link for adapter:

Thanks in advance

M.2s don't need a full 16x lane. You can find adapters that won't take up the entire slot.

Yeah, that'll work, (it's called PCIe, btw) Though you will loose the ability to put a graphics card in.

Thanks a lot pal. Also I already have integrated graphics by Asus, so I don't really care about graphics card?.... Also, what do you think of WD Black 256GB NVMe SSD??

Never seen it before, but it's a WD Black, so it's probably reliable.
