mic won't work

so my pc is now 3 months with a few bumps and today's problem is the mic idk y but when i plug in my mic on both places i can plug it in it won;'t pick up the mic what should i do

 

 

THINGS I HAVE DONE as "TROUBLESHOOTING"

plugged it directly to motherbnoard (won't work)

checked if mic was still working (still works)

if it has RGB (no)

 

does are the things i have done but to no avail

 

my headphones are the OG razer kraken pro

mobo gigabyte ga ab350 d3h

Try plugging the headphones into the mic inputs and see if you get ANY signal. It depends on the speaker design, but in many cases this will work, as a speaker generally is a (dynamic) microphone wired backwards.

OR if it's a combined mic/headpone plug (four poles, three plastic rings), plug it into your phone and call a friend. If the mic is dead it may be the wire or the mic itself that is dead.

Does the motherboard support the 4-pole 3,5mm jacks? I don't think any of mine do.

 

If you have another set of 4-pole heahpones, like the ones that come with smart phones, do they work on your MB?
