I recently built a computer with a core i7 8700k, 2x8 gskill ddr4 3200, Asus ROG STRIX 370-g, Samsung 960 pro 1tb, corsair 650i psu and a gtx 970 ssc from a old system. I've tried using the easy overclocking in bios settings and it won't make it past the bios before crashing. And when manually overclocking the cpu gets to Windows then bsod. Any advice?

What speed are you trying to OC to? Which settings are you adjusting to obtain those clocks and what do you have them set to?

Your question is very open ended.

I suggest you have a sit down and read through the following; I know it seems like a daunting task it will be very beneficial and you will get a sense of what everything does:

Don't use auto-overclocking software like that.

It's terrible and adds way too much voltage.

Like ouroesa suggested, read a detailed guide on overclocking that chip.

You can't take shortcuts while overclocking if you want a stable overclock.
