Wired, and no I didn't have easy access. I personally wired most of the house (about 5 rooms) with outdoor rated Cat5e, drilled through the outside walls, RJ45 punch-down jacks and plates, added a un-managed high bandwidth switch after the router. It was completely worth it. Even though the house I'm in is a single story, and not that big, the WIFI signal loss from room to room was atrocious. Though wireless technology has come a long way, it just cannot beat wired in signal stability, consistent available bandwidth, and latency. Fixed just about all the internet media streaming problems for the smart TVs everybody was experiencing. For me, helped my latency in gaming a fair amount.

If you can go wired, just invest a little bit of time and money, you won't regret it.
