What is causing this sound?

Saxioliken

Do you guys know what is causing this sound? It happens around 20 times and sometimes it finally boots my computer up, the other times it just stays like this. I can't figure out what it is:

could maybe be the harddrive(if thats what you are using) they can get pretty noisy if they get old. might also be why its taking some time to boot up.

i spent $3500(23,000dkr.) on building my pc and i only play csgo on low settings..

I'm not sure, but i think is the Hard Drive. Maybe that's the reason also that takes too long to boot up

I ran a hard drive check programs 2 weeks ago and it showed it to be at good health and it has been nowhere near crane magnets ever since :D

EDIT: It was the weeb app Crystaldiskinfo

cant see what else it could be. it really sounds like the disk from the harddrive.

Is there something I can check at it to rule this out?

if you have a ssd or other harddrive you could try to boot the system over that one and see if it boots up with no problems. if not i dont know how to check it. dont try to open it as you might do more damage then good

Well it didn't make the noise in the BIOS before either, it started when windows booted, but you might be right

i always figured it was my PSU since I tortured it last summer from the heat with no A/C :(

well its prob time to get new hdd or maybe even upgrade to ssd. you just need to download windows on a usb and save all the files you wanna keep. on a other usb. dont need to worry about windows code as its saved on the mobo

It doesn't mean the drive is damaged to the point of failure, I've had drives last years sounding like that, just take care to have important documents backed up and you will be fine

Can't really afford a new HDD, let alone an SSD

But I have an external HDD, can I use that as a replacement?

An external HDD is just a normal one in a fancy enclosure with an adapter. Simply open it up and remove the harddisk and you'll be fine
