2 practical uses I can think of for that scenario.

 

1. You have multiple monitors, more than what can be connected to one gpu.

2. You want offset all gpu physx to your secondary gpu so you get the maximum fps in Batman (probably one of the few games that supports gpu physx)

 

Aside from that I see little point to running both.
