Hey there,

its soo anoying. Years ago i build my own PC. It working .. not always. Benchmarks and games could ran forever. No problems at all. When surfing with Chrome or using Photoshop it tend to freeze (all the time). I rebuild the whole thing an set up Windows like five times. Didnt make any difference.

I never tried anything from there on. Now i believe it could be a memory issue.

Back then I bought PanRam 2x4GB 2400MHz DDR4. So yesterday I got new Kingston 2x4GB 2400MHz DDR4.

Now it gets crazy. I wanted to know if the PanRam I bought back then could be shitty. I just installed the new Kingston. But then the machine wont even get into BIOS.

By the way, here are my specs:

i7 5930K

Asrock x99x Killer

bios version 2.10

GTX970

SanDisk 120GB SSD (not installed at the time of testing)

Corsair water cooling thing

550W

with the panram the machine starts just normal. I cleared the CMOS several times. When adding the Kingston it wont get into BIOS with error code bd.

When only trying to boot with the Kingston it shows the same error. It tried to increase the memory voltage to 1.35 V - no difference.

When testing with all 4 sticks I use A1 B1 C1 D1 as I should.

What I then noticed is that the 5930K supports only DDR4 up to 2133MHz but the PanRam worked just fine (windows boots - games ran stable but when using Chrome it got unstable). Should I test 2133MHz RAM and return the Kingston?

When the 2400MHz PanRam worked, shouldnt the 2400MHz Kinstong work as well?

Any ideas on fixing the error code bd thing?

try forcing the timings to ignore the spdif chip and be a bit looser to improve stability
