Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

Yes, you'll need to switch to DDR4. I would expect you to have to reinstall Windows as well, it often doesn't play nice when changing motherboard, especially when it's a jump to a new architecture.

EDIT; Misread that as "will I have", not "I will have"

Last year I upgraded from an old pentium to an A8-7600 and at the tme I had windows 7. I had to change my motherboard and ram from ddr2 to ddr3 and windows 7 didn't like that and didn't boot so I sent it for repair and now it's woking fine. Now I have windows 10 and I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 5, I will have to replace my motherboard again and upgrade to ddr4, will that also break on windows 10?

It shouldn't but I would advise you do a clean install anyway. You might have to reactivate windows which will either be done automatically if you have your Microsoft account connected, you'll just say you swapped hardware at the prompt, or worst case you call them up and say it broke and they'll give you an activation key.
