I have an HDMI splitter plugged into my gtx 970, one signal goes to my monitor an the other to my tv but when i start my pc with the tv plugged into the splitter i dont get a singnal on both screen, i have to unplug the tv before starting the pc, after that i can plug it in and have a signal on both scrrens. But why do i dont get a singnal with the tv plugged in before booting?

Because the splitter you have might not be of good quality.

May I ask why you don't just run a second HDMI cable? Or use a DP -> HDMI Cable?

Splitters can cause such issue's, some lower quality ones at least.
