Motherboard help!

I have a crosshair v formula-z and a Kraken X60, but when I plug the 3-pin pump connector to the 4-pin CPU Fan piece on the motherboard (the kraken x60 manual said to do that), I get a CPU fan error and I can't overclock or even enter windows. I need advice!

You can disable the CPU fan monitoring in the advanced configuration mode and it should take care of your problem

Well i just recently got a Zalman LQ315 liquid cooler and in the instructions it tell me that i have to "connect fan cable into 4-pin CPU fan header" and "connect pump cable into a 3-pin fan header on motherboard"

I think you have them the wrong way around???

The fan is a PWM fan so it has to go into a 4-pin and think it like an air fan cooler heatsink it plugs into the 4-pin CPU fan header, and so the fan with the cooling kit that is on the rad is simular just located on the rad. and the other is just a power connection for the pump. not sure if other manufactures do it different, i though the pump would change speed, but maybe it doesn't on the Zalman.

Plug a random fan into the CPU header, then disable the CPU fan speed protection.

Also, plug the pump directly into Molex; you often can't get full speed off of a fan header for some reason. Just plug any fans you have into the motherboard directly.
