Hello to all. I'm back on the forums again for help.

I have two kits of Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB RAM. On the modules, it lists the following things.

Speed : 2133MHz

Timings : 11-11-11-27

Voltage : 1.5V

Model : CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11R

A few days ago I ran Speccy, to check if the drivers for my new GPU had installed and the card was showing up and they had. But I also noticed that it listed my RAM at a speed of 667MHz (9-9-9-24). To check if this was just an error, I went into my system information to see if it would also list the RAM frequency, and it did not, but it only showed me 12 of my 16GB. Is this normal? And if it isn't, how can I fix it to run at full speed?

Go to the bios and enable XMP Profile for the ram.

Not sure why you only have 12 gigs though. Check in bios aswell

by default, the mobo casts the RAM as 1333MHz. your report is reporting half as the DDR (dual rate rate) is implied.

so double your report number 1334MHz is the actual. you'll need to use the XMP profile to get the RAM modules to advertised speed.

usual issue on the x79 platform is the use of strap overclocking by moving the frequency and not the multiplier to get the speeds. on 3820, you have a limited amount of frequency for overclocking (43 multiplier) plus any strap bus speed used.

Thanks! You were right, the BIOS clocks it at 1334MHz, but the XMP Profile seems to have improved the speed. BIOS said 2133MHz, but Speccy says 1066MHz(with the listed timings as well.) I think it could be a CPU or Mobo bottleneck, but thank you for the help!
