well performance is none if you get the a I7 it won't preform better or worse because the board its on other then if you can overclock but pretty much any board over 100$ should overclock, but it may have more work station grade stuff like more slots or like what Asus does with some high end mobo's where you have another slot next to the ram to put 2 more M.2 SSD

Generally, if they have the same chipset, they don't have any performance differences.

The difference would mainly be in the amount of capacitor the motherboard to help with system stability and support for Crossfire or SLI configurations

More Connectors like SATA 3, More PCI-E Lanes, More fan headers, U.2 Drives, M.2 Drives and other connects like Front panel USB3 Or 3.1

It can also come with some small features like Q code LED or support for LN.2 Bios flashback, Onboard Buttons like Start or reset buttons

The IO would also be different, More expensive motherboard usually contain more  USB 3 or 3.1 ports and you would see less DVI or VGA display outs on those motherboards
