I am running a xfx double dissipating (2 fans) 7870 and it gets to like 77c under load. This is with the fan at like 50. I think it may be because my case is very cramped. I have a corsair 600t on the way so I hope that fixes it. Any suggestion?

Btw I don't really need more power I can run all the games I play (bf3 planet side 2 ect) on ultra.

How many fans are in your current set up? What case?

Crank the GPU fan speed up a bit and see how it works after a round of BF3

Don't worry about 77 C, that is running just fine.

Those cards can run 24/7 at 85 - 90 C without errors crashes or killing the card. (preferably keep it at or below 85)

There's really nothing that needs to be "fixed' as your temp range is not bad. If you find the location you keep your computer getting hot, open a window.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I also have one 7870 and out the box the temps were between 70 and 80 after about an hour of bf3. I decided the remount the cooler and apply some decent thermal paste and since then I have not seen the temps over 52 after many hours of bf3 with room temp between 22 and 25 degrees. Granted I have exceptional air flow in my case I still think you can get better temps.

When you get your case I would recommend remounting the cooler on the graphics card and apply some Arctic mx4 thermal paste.

If you want it to run cooler, I would suggest you to create a fan curve in MSI afterburner so it spins quicker when at that temp. If you GPU is full of dust, I would recommend you to get canned air to clean the dust and to get better temps because of having better airflow in your gpu.
