INTEL HD 4600 VS GTX 1060 6GB for 4K rendering

Hello,

My system configuration is

Processor -i7 4790 - 3.6GHz

DDR 3- 8GB 1600

MB- Asus H97-Plus

Samsung 850 Evo 120GB SSD fro system drive

Presently no GPU other than onboard Intel HD4600

I'm to purchase a GPU for 4K editing and rendering in Premiere Pro CC. My present system can handle 4K files with minimal color corrections but takes time to render or edit. How much a GTX 1060- 6GB will facilitate my work?

Won't do much if you don't have a lot of effects and color corrections. It'll accelerate those but not your average video export. You'll want some more CPU cores for that. 8GB RAM is also REALLY tight for 4K video.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Thanks Neliz Mastr, I'd like to play with some effects and color correction. Changing the CPU is not possible at this moment. I can also add two 8GB RAM sticks if necessary.
