Strange transfer issues

Has anyone heard of this, I downloaded a couple test files off of the net for testing my network speeds both 1 and 10GBE when first tested they worked fine with expected transfer speeds but a day later I'm only getting 25MB/s with these files but if I take another file I get expected speeds its almost like the files are getting corrupted or something if I take a file off of my system all is good I'm new to networking stuff but this seems off to me?

Windows file transfer over network can be wonky speed wise. Since how windows handles it fles they may be cached or just read from the drive directly, in which case the drive if busy will slow down the transfer speed.

If you want to exclude all those factors you'll need a dedicated drive on both ends for just testing. And use a big file to see where it settles down on, since it will start high and end on its normal speed after a while.

Yeah I've been trying different things and have found that if I map drives to my desktop all files with the exception of the test files I mentioned have worked flawlessly on both my rigs at 10GBE speeds that really rocks I have my rigs peer to peer with my unRAID server with 2 mellanox cards, each rig has a 1 port and the NAS has a dual port there is just something wonky with those files I downloaded from the net
