GPU availability - mining shortages relaxing?

In checking for deals today I noticed that GPUs are in stock, and pricing getting better too, at least for team green. I'm only looking at one UK store (Scan):

1050 - various models available from £119

1050 Ti - various models available from £168

1060 3GB - various models available from £215

1060 6GB - various models available from £279

1070 - various models available from £450 (lowest around £400 before mining)

1070 Ti - various models available from £506

1080 - various models available from £580 (lowest around £500 before mining)

1080 Ti - limited availability around £900

I can't recall the pricing on the 1060 or lower before mining, but I got a 1060 3GB for £190 in November 2016! Are they that old already? Anyway, for these few samples, it looks like pricing is a bit over 10% more than best before mining, but we can allow for part of that due to ram price increased. I don't think it accounts for all of it though.

What about team red?

RX 560 4GB - in stock from £154

RX 570 4GB - in stock from £359

RX 570 8GB - in stock from £424

RX 580 8GB - in stock from £400 (I picked some up for £260 in December 2017)

Vega 56 - in stock from £642 (I picked one up for £384 in September 2017)

Vega 64 - in stock from £680

Oh dear... pricing here hasn't moved yet. To check a second source, I did a quick look at Amazon UK, and they have a 580 4GB for £340 currently in stock. Still not great against the 1060 6GB... other models still not good.

There are signs it could be relaxing. And yes, the cards are that old, having released in summer 2016.

Prices may be coming back down to normal levels, but the cards have been out long enough that even the miners aren't buying as many. Although in North America prices for the most part still aren't where they were before the mining craze.

Hopefully things will keep on moving to this direction. I hope that smaller markets will follow this trend (at least for the green team), because locally 1060 6GB starts around 400€ (excluding sale items)

I've noticed prices coming down. Amazon have a 8GB 580 to pre-order for £300, by the way.

Hope you get it soon. I don't look at pre-order pricing as you can list product at any price if you don't actually have it to sell, and they usually have small print meaning they can cancel at any time before shipping.

I already have mine, bought from OCUK for £300 a couple of weeks ago.

Given this is Amazon, the probability of their cancelling is very low, and the price you pre-order for is what you'll pay (if not less).

They’re relaxing where I live anyway. The prices are still high, but the shortages are starting to disappear with people actually waiting for a larger supply with no demand to take advantage of the price drops.

Mining is significantly less profitable right now than it was a month ago, so to me this makes sense.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Nvidia probably has cards for 3 new generations but not bothering to release cause wats the point. I bet the next 2-3years worth of cards are already designed and probably working hardware in the lab with no need to release to the market cause wats the point. Sales are already great. Just sucks cause omg I want more frames!!!!

Sales have always been the same for nvidia. Nothing changed from 2 years ago from their stand point.
