Hey

so I just upgraded my PC and it would seem that my Network PCI Card stopped working.

So so I was looking for something new.

Would a USB adapter like this one (photo) work?

dont really need anything crazy.

My computer only works on Ethernet right now.

So that was the point of the Network Card. But it no it no longer works.

Socwould this do do the same job?

It'll work, just won't be as fast as a PCI-e solution as it'll be running via the USB bus which is slower.

Ha! Haha! HAhahaha! Laughing at the product, not you. Based on the brand name, and the realistic throughput of Wireless for the cost of this device, I'd wager you get between 20-60 mbps tops, maybe up to 80mbps peak on 5GHz. Amazon's reviews (where people actually state speeds and don't just say Top Quabity Product 5 Stars Would Buy Again!) also seem to show the same kind of throughput, where some people are only getting between 3-20 mbps during large file transfers. Keep in mind that USB 2.0 adapters will also limit your speeds since real world speeds over USB 2.0 may not even fully saturate USB 2.0's theoretical 480mbps, depending on your motherboard and chipset.

I'm not saying it won't work, and also not saying don't buy it, but I'd recommend getting an adapter from a reputable company such as this one from TP-Link instead. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Archer-Adapter-Dual-Band-Compatible/dp/B0711MWH1S/

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)
