Chromebook ROM modding

Hello LTT - 

 

Recently I have come across many videos with people flashing custom ROMs to their Chromebook devices enabling them to run operating systems other than ChromeOS, notably Windows 10 and Linux. I have found a custom ROM I want to use (by Mr. Chromebox) and the Linux distro (Lubuntu). Does anyone have any experience with these modded devices, and/or battery life? My goal is a small, portable, energy efficient but powerful laptop that can be my very own. Anything to look out for/tips and tricks?

You don't need to flash a ROM or do anything like that. Simply install crouton then the linux of your choice from there.
