Need Help With First Build

I'm planning on building a new system later this year, and being a first time builder I thought it would be good to get some help from people who knew what they were talking about. If you have any advice or improvements I can make please let me know.

Part List

Here are some things you might need to know

Planning on adding ssd later.

Don't know much about Motherboards or PSUs.

I have a budget of about $1000.

I like RGB but it isn't a necessity.

I plan on doing light overclocking.

I will be using stock cooler until I can afford AIO cooler.

I want something that I can upgrade in the future.

$400 for a GTX 1070? You already have that? cuz that's GTX 1060 6GB money right now. 1070s were $400, but that was back when mining crypto currency isnt a thing with graphics cards.

Change the PSU to this one.https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KmgzK8/seasonic-focus-gold-550w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fm

The one you picked is quite outdated as it is a group regulated unit. This build wont use more than 300w anyway, but I picked a 550w rather than a 450w because those somehow cost more (modular cables are a must though)

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

Model: HP Omen 17 17-an110ca CPU: i7-8750H (0.125V core & cache, 50mV SA undervolt) GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Mobile (+80/+450, 1650MHz~1750MHz 0.78V~0.85V) RAM: 8+8GB DDR4-2400 18-17-17-39 2T Storage: HP EX920 1TB PCIe x4 M.2 SSD + Crucial MX500 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD, 128GB Toshiba PCIe x2 M.2 SSD (KBG30ZMV128G) gone cooking externally, 1TB Seagate 7200RPM 2.5" HDD (ST1000LM049-2GH172) left outside Monitor: 1080p 126Hz IPS G-sync

Desktop benching:

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

If you are going to wait until the summer, don't plan out a build now, because new series and cpus are coming in a short time, probably sooner than the end of the summer.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

Reasons:

1. Better Mobo: going with x370 instead of b350.

2. Added an SSD

3. Upgraded ram to 16gb

4. Better 80+ gold efficiency tier 1 PSU

5. Purchase that windows 10 pro key from kinguin.net...currently it's going around fr $32...That's a good site..ND I use it a lot fr windows OEM keys. I'll link it below..

I'm open to either, but prefer the price to performance that Ryzen provides.

I'm hoping that crypto will die out so I can get a 1070 for around 400 later this year, which is why I'm waiting. Also thanks for the PSU tips.
