Server OS help?

Hello guys

 

i recently bought a server, with dual quad core xeon´s in it, and i wonder what OS o should get for it.

i have worked with Windows Server 2012 R2 in the past, but when i would buy it i found this Microsoft page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/kmsclientkeys

i have tried to research a bit about KMS keys, but did not find anything use full, so i hope some of you guys can help me.

 

can i use the KMS keys for my server in my company?

or do i need to buy the windows server license?

i have looked into Linux, but the it guys that need to keep it running, does not know how to use Linux server, they are familiar with windows server.

Just buy another listens of windows server for the server if that is what the IT guys know how to use. If you need help understanding KMS keys call Microsoft Server Support they will be able to give you more information than most in this forum.
