5850 drivers help!

Hi all

I have 2x monitors plugged into a 5850 HIS card using HDMI and DVI (to VGA converter)
The HDMI monitor is 1440p. I have plugged the card in first time just now into an i5 Z97-HD3 450W leadex PSU. I however cannot get the drivers to work so only one monitor is detected and the monitors mirror each other.

These are the drivers I am trying

The drivers don't seem to install on windows 7 64bit and both monitors are stuck on the low resolution and mirroring each other so it's basically useless for 2 monitors
Any ideas as to how I can install drivers?

Go into the Device Manager and under Display Adapters. If you can see Radeon HD 5850 without any warnings, the drivers have been installed. Next, you'll want to go into Display Settings and make sure that under Multiple Displays, it's set to extend rather than duplicate.

It says standard VGA adaptor

Kay that means your drivers didn't install after all. Are you running into any errors when installing the drivers? You mentioned something about it failing.

Not really but it never mentions display drivers. Only some catalyst control centre which I can't seem to open in windows or HDMI audio drivers

I'm having trouble actually finding and installing the display drivers - being my first AMD card installation doesn't help either :/

Is catalyst control centre actually the drivers?

Try using DDU - Display Driver Uninstaller and then install the driver again.

To be an expert is to know more about less.

Uninstall everything that has to do with AMD Catalyst and re-download the package to install again. Make sure you get the AMD Catalyst™ 15.7.1package rather than the Crimson beta one.

DDU gives a no nvidia.cfg error which of course there isn't because it's an AMD/ATI card?

Wherever I extract it it gives an error. Getting annoying now how hard can it be to install a GPU :/

I have "AMD Catalyst Install Manager" installed - nothing else and I can't even open this program

Ready to throw it out of the window
