I have about 10TB of data on my PC which I've temporarily backed up onto a cloud service. Because the internet is so terrible where I live I would prefer that this wasn't my only backup of my entire system, plus also, I don't 100% trust cloud services. My biggest problem is obviously finding an affordable solution to backup this much data.

Imo the cheapest way to backup your data is to buy 10 TB worth of hard drives and run your system in RAID 1

To be clear, if you accidently delete something, it is gone. But if one of your drives fail, the data is still on the other drive

Id just get a few 8tb external hdds and use backup programs(what os? there are many). to put the data on all the drives.  Keep one of the drives offsite.

not a great solution as raid can't delete with deletion, psu failure, user error, filesystem problems. A proper backup will protect you from all of this.

NAS, off the shelf, don't trust that data to DIY.

A DDS tape drive is a great idea, if you don't need real-time backups and don't mind the cost/speed issues.

The most widely recommended backup strategy you'll find is known as the 3-2-1 method: Keep 3 copies of your data, 2 stored locally on different mediums, with 1 kept offsite in case of disaster. The cloud service you mentioned is one potential solution for the 3rd (offsite) copy, but it's not the only solution. You could also use external USB drive(s) and keep them offsite, at a friend's house, or grandma's or something.
