My house has a serious wifi deadspot in my room. It also happens to be where my playstation and PC are.

I currently use a cheap Edimax powerline to connect me to downstairs. When the network isn't being used by anyone else, my PC can top at about 800 KBps down. It isn't fully utilizing my available down speed and I'm putting the powerline as the cause.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced, low latency powerline which can match or up this speed. Any recommendations welcome!

If you’re looking for a meaningful upgrade, don’t buy any units that aren’t “HomePlug AV2” or G.hn with MIMO (G.9963) as these two are able to use the ground wires in additional to hot and neutral in order to communicate. This helps in case your two outlets are in different phases (which I suspect yours are). Also, before you do any upgrades, make sure that on both ends the powerline adaptor is plugged directly into the wall - you should not put powerline adaptors on any type of extension cable, surge protector, UPS, or similar. Extension cables and basic splitters/strips add noise to the line, and surge protectors and UPSs tend to block most of the powerline signals due to their basic operation.

Thank you. Based on your suggestions for HomePlug AV2, I've found some highly regarded and reviewed TP Link ones with a plug pass through. Does this cause interference if something is plugged into it?

no, those are very good ones. I prefer Zyxel over TPLink, but they use the same chipset inside so it doesn't really make a difference. The device plugged into the outlet shouldn't cause any interference, but I would try not to connect any motors to it (refrigerator, vacuum, etc)
