I transported my desktop back from university yesterday. All was fine before leaving however when setting up everything at home there is no output from the GPU. The fans are spinning on the card, I've tried reseating it but to no success. Currently the computer will output from the motherboard dvi (suggesting the GPU is broken)

At uni I was using a mini display port to DVI cable for my main display, here I only have DVI and HDMI. Could that be the cause?

Or has my GPU suddenly died?

Thanks

Mine did this in my PC and the GPU had died... Before it did so it through up some funny lines on my monitor and also got extremely hot.

If its outputting from the motherboard then it'll be the gpu as the cable and monitor will be fine.

Its one of those unfortunate things where you have a little scream and shout and then replace it.

Good luck my dude
