Help Installing CPU Cooler

Hey, sorry if it's a bit of a dumb question or not appropriate for this topic, but I tried installing an AMD stock cooler that came with the CPU and couldn't be installed because the motherboard holes were too big and the screws may as well have been a pinwheel, just kept spinning and not going anywhere. Apparently it has a reputation of being dodgy but I figure I'd ask anyone here for advice before wasting anymore money. But if there aren't any solutions, could any recommend me a CPU Cooler, liquid or air idc, that isn't excessively expensive? Thank you very much

Motherboard - AS Rock A320M-HDV (AM4 Socket)

CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 1300X

Can you send pictures of the too big wholes and how the stock cooler doesn't fit? Because that is more than unbelievable to me.
