Hi linus tech tips.

I'm preparing a portfolio for a university interview where I will be studying Product, Automotive & Transport design. I have an idea for a pc case where on the glass has a head up display integrated in glorious neon or RGB colours.

The purpose of this is to assist with benchmark testing and show specifications. even show all sorts of designs and logos.

What I want to know is. Is this idea physically possible? Because the design in my head I've not seen anything like this before.

Thanks.

You have a few options, the most straightforward is etching the glass panel and shining a light up from the bottom.  When the light hits the opaque etched bit it glows nicely.

Downside is that this is static, meaning specs or logos only.

Another, more complex option is a snowblind style lcd

I was thinking more in the way of actual motion in the hud. Like with on a car windscreen when you see the hud.

So I want like a film inside the glass that shows animations and designs instead of a static image.

So what I mean by possible is are there any connections on the motherboard or has it got to be via USB?
