Will a Graphics Card make a difference?

OK thanks for clearing that up, but would it benefit from a gtx 1050?

What benefit are you seeking for?
benefit to play games? Yes, but don't expect too much.

benefit to stream and gaming? I don't want to give a false hope, dual core CPU is dual core cpu.

Hello everyone, I have a PC with an AMD A6-9500 that has 2 CPU cores and 6 GPU cores, It can stream to twitch while playing very non-demanding games but it can't if I play and stream Fortnite at the same time, SO, I was wondering if I get a Graphics Card, will that do most of the work related to playing the game and then will the CPU transcode/stream better, or will it not make a difference?

Thanks.

Modern graphics cards include everything to take care of the streaming part and can do it with basically no performance impact.

So yes, it will make a difference.

Thanks heaps for the reply, I want to buy a gtx 1050 2gb, do you think that would be good enough, or is there something better for under $200?

Personally I'd go for a used 900 series card (for example a 970), although be aware that your cpu will be holding it back. It would still be faster than a 1050 and transition better if you ever decide to upgrade your cpu.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

It should be

You might be able to get a 1050ti for that budget but that's it.

What do you mean by "Holding it back"?

That the card won't perform as well as it would with a better cpu. You may have heard of this as "bottlenecking".

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

A new cpu, but for your purposes it's probably not necessary.

Streaming use lot's of CPU power, and that CPU is dual core.

So, I don't think adding GPU will help doing it.

It might be, but that cpu is definitely a bottleneck

I wanted to know if adding a graphics card would do all the game rendering and all that and the CPU do all the transcoding and stuff because its not doing as much work on the game.

That's not how it works, games still need cpu power to run, and transcoding is just one subsystem that gpu handled, it still need cpu to do calculate everything.

it will help boost FPS in your games while you not streaming definitely.

But streaming is whole different scenario where you need both CPU and GPU power at the same time, quad core i5 is minimum requirement to maintain your fps in game and stream steady.

With your current setup, streaming at 480p/720p 30fps might be doable, but your in-game experience  isn't going to be pleasant, unless we are talking about streaming league of legends here.

Modern graphics cards allow you to capture and encode video directly, so yes, it does make a difference. That's what shadowplay does for instance.

I encourage you to twitch streaming with dual core cpu and gtx 1050. The CPU alone probably maxed out when playing games without streaming.

I can't explain how shitty the experience is, but I've done my work.

This is my attempt few months ago while I am still using i3, it's playable, and doable but I'm not enjoying it a bit, and this even with old games, can't imagine how it's going to be if I tried to stream dota2.
