Hello,

I have a Windows 7 Professional CD with a product key activated on my PC. My friend has problems with his PC, so we want to format his C:

Can I use the same CD to install Win7 on his PC, even though I've used the same CD for my installment? (Will of course use his product key, and not mine which is used for my PC). The question is about if we can use the same CD. Thanks in advance.

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12

yes you can. the cd has nothing tied to it other then the windows version. so make sure your friend has the code for the windows version your cd has on it.

So if my CD is Win 7 pro, and he has another Win 7 (different than pro), his code will not work?

No, his key won't work. The disc must be of the same version. What version do you need? I may have an ISO for you.

He has Win 7 Home, while I have Pro. Does that mean his product key will not work if using my Pro CD?

His key won't work if you're using a Pro disc. Which version of home? Home Premium or Basic (it's probably Premium)?
