Ok so I want to OC during the holidays, I know that the ram in system has to or will be OC'd when the cpu is overclocked, or am I mistaken.

Anyway I have this cheap 1333Mhz ram, will the low end ram affect my ability to overclock? planning on trying for 4Ghz on my 3570k.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

You don't need to oc your ram.

Just raise your multiplier to 40 and you'll have 4ghz. Why only 4 ghz though?

4GHz on a 3570K? there is 99% chance you will get that OC, you should aim for 4.5-4.8 with a H110

Unless you are overclocking an fsb, you don't need fast RAM to overclock.

Cool, I could just press the OC button on my mobo and get 4.2 but I want to actually OC.

That's because the default setting is auto and adds as much voltage as you need. It often adds much more than needed so it's not recommended.

No. It did on older series where you were oc the FBS/ram/bus as the only way to OC.

1333 ram is fine. You might gain a whole fps going from 1333 to 1866 cl9 in some games on a single GPU. Maybe .5 seconds going to 2133 cl9. Past that you might actually go down in fps from  1866 cl9 because the latency gets bad.

High speed ram is nothing special. I would rather have another 100 mhz on clock and 1600 cl9 then my ram at 2133 cl10. Then again I bought 1600 cl9 ram so the 2133 was free. :)

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.
