Looking 4 new gpu

my specs are CPU i5-3470 Motherboard Asus motherboard P8 H61-MX R-2 RAM 16bg GPU MSI GTX 670 Power Edition OC Case Noob Case: Cooler Master Elite 342 Storage 500gb. 128gb Samsung SSD 850Pro Display(s) ASUS 21.5" VE228HR x2.

would i get better fps in games if i where to only buy a new gpu and nothing else new. and if so any gpu i could upgrade to

You will get more fps untilla certain point. Pairing your i5 with a 1080ti would be stupid but a 1060, rx580 or even something older like a 980 would not be bad.

a GPU wouldnt be a bad upgrade choice.. except literally everything is out of stock at the moment.

 

unrelated, this week i checked both suppliers we use at work, and both of them dont have a single GPU in stock.. literally nothing..

ebay will always have 'something' in stock, but to be honest you'll be over paying for anything current.  Like +karsnoordhuis says a 9 series wouldn't be a bad choice, and if you're gaming at 1080p you'll get away with a 970
