Hi all. I'm new here and only been on PC gaming for 3 years. I have great comprehension of what's good for gaming on PC, except storage... I know the quick answer would be SSD or NVME. My problem today is I'm addicted to game moding, and it takes days or weeks to set up a stable game. I lost my Steam/Nexus SSD the other day and I'm.... pissed.... I did not back up anything. So, my first question is, what is the best way to back up this kind of data. And has anybody used enterprise hardware to game through? (Intel p4500, LSI raid cards, etc...) Also, I kinda want a data system that I can set and forget... for the most part. I understand there will be some upkeep. Something that might have auto backup, auto restore and so on. Thank you for your time.

If you want to set and forget a data system you would have to go to server grade HDDs and then make either a backup or set them in e.g. raid 5 (throught a raid card, at least that would be the wy I would do it) so if one fails you don't loose your data. A SSD will fail after some time, but normally it's long enought so that you don't have to worry about it, at least when your not writing things to it all the time
