Ok I am not that savvy on up to date tech as I should be here. The last tower I built ran like two120 gig hdds , after that I had a Dell "just a old stuido XPS.  Now I could not afford to build "haven't built one in years anyhow and small things are harder to see the older you get lol" or buy a new tower and mine was so out of date. My son wanted to get me a new computer for gaming so he bought me this one which currently has a 120 ssd and a 1 TB hhd. One of the things I want to do before updating the graphics card is add a second 1 TB ssd in this tower and keep both my current storage devices. This way I will have the 120  ssd just for my system boot, a 1 TB ssd for my games then the standard 1 TB hhd for any files such as pictures, music etc. So my question is can this be done and will adding the second ssd be faster than running all my games off of the standard hhd? My current system specs below.

Sure, your games will be faster, but I don't think it'd be worth the money to get a 1TB SSD. I'd get a 2TB mechanical drive.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2
