I'm planning on getting a new cpu after I get a new motherboard (ROG Crosshair VI Hero), and I'm trying to decide between the Ryzen 5 1600x (6 cores at 3.6GHz, overclockable to 4GHz) and the ryzen 7 1700 (8 cores at 3GHz, overclockable to 3.7GHz). I plan on gaming and streaming, but don't know whether I should go for more cores or higher core clock. Any tips? Here are the upgrades I'm thinking of: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WTDxYT

For gaming, I usually recommend higher core clock with no less than 4 cores.

If you're going to be streaming, I would definitely say go for more cores. The 1700 overclocks pretty well from what I've seen, it should serve you well.
