Desktop Volume Knob

OK, stupid question; sadly this is the only relevant forum to put it in so bare with me.  I'm looking for a dirt cheep solution to mildly annoying problem.

I have a headset with in line volume control and mute switch.  This design is basically useless for gaming.   Without buying a new headset or something, is there a product that is a volume knob/mute button i can stick on my desk top next to my keyboard?

This product is the Griffin PowerMate, and is basically what I'm looking for but I'd prefer an analog solution for under $30 in Canada.  Do I have to make something myself or does something like this already exist?

If you have a smartphone (who doesn't these days), try Roccat Powergrid. Completely free and gives you a ton of control over your PC. Volume just scratches the surface.

Whoa, just checked it out. It's actually pretty sick!

I'm assuming that product controls the Windows volume? Then it's not analog.

Best product that you can buy for analog volume control is an amp. You could probably build yourself a volume control module, or ghetto rig something with one of these wall mount units.
