Hey, I'm very new to PC Building and I will be building this pc + setup on 2020 (My first setup)

I need suggestions what to add or modify

and also how many Custom Cablemod cables do I need?

budget is 6000 CAD

when it says "purchased" it is optional (not the custom cablemod cables)

You probably shouldn't plan a $6300 build two years in advance, all these parts will be 'obsolete' by then. Also if it's your first time building, I'd go with something air cooled instead of a full custom loop or whatever it is you have planned.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

I'm not the one who will build it myself, I'll go to our nearby tech store to help me build it and I'll be keeping to update it, I just wanted to be sure that everything in the list works together.

A large majority of these parts don't really fit together.

  • An 850 Evo on a 6,000 build? I'd go with a 960 pro or another NVMe based drive.
  • Why are you buying the 140mm fans? There's nowhere for you to put them.
  • Why're you only replacing one set of fans for the radiators instead of both?
  • The motherboard has an ingegrated8 port fan-hub, so you don't need either of the splitters.
  • Why pay $400 extra for a GPU? All you're (really) getting is a beefy cooler that's going to be taken off and a better PCB (which can be done for less).
  • Are you doing water cooling because of the looks? For Most CPUs/GPUs, a good air cooler is nearly as good and tons cheaper.
  • Why run 16 GBs of RAM in a $6,000 system? You can find 16GBs in a $1,000 system.
  • Any specific reason you need the Pro version of windows?

You're also 4mm short for compatibility with the GPU and the HDD Cage in the H440.

Edit: Also, as @Theguywhobea stated, it's of little use to plan builds this far in advance. I'd guarantee a CPU and GPU platform change which would result in having to re-do both the GPU, CPU, and cooling parts.

- I replaced it now with 960 Pro 512 GB. Should I remove the 1TB HDD and buy an external storage instead?

- I forgot I'm using fans for the cooling loop, the H440 supports 2x140mm.

- Yeah that's what I got wrong

- EKWB asked for the motherboard so I thought that I needed them

- I'm going to be streaming + photoshop w/ video editing

- Yes, for looks and better performance for the stuff above

- So I'll upgrade to 32 GBs of RAM?

- I didn't check the added features of Pro so I did and I didn't think I need them so I'm going to put Windows 10 Home instead.

1) That depends on if you need a full TB of quick-access storage. Personally, I'd go with the 512GB; for if you plan on storing all your data on the SSD, then there's no use for the HDD (and in most cases HDD space is good enough)

2) The H440 supports 2x140mm fans or the 360mm radiator - not both at the same time

3) That doesn't really have anything to do with that specific card. There are cheaper cards that are better.

4) Yeah, I'd recommend that. You could always bump it up further than that at a later date. 32GBs should be enough (for most people) in the upcoming years.

How about ASUS ROG STRIX 1080ti 11gb 1.57Ghz cuz I want the Graphics card to have some green glow effect

If the LEDs are on the backplate, you may be able to keep them (on either GPU); however, if they're on the cooling shroud, which I'm pretty sure they are, they'll be taken off when you add water-cooling.

Here's an Asus strix card looks like after the front shroud has been taken off.  (Link to reddit post about keeping orig. backplate)
