A few days ago i started having issues with my PC, i can be in the middle of a game or i can just be sitting and working, the monitors then suddenly lose signal and my monitors go into standby, the PC is still on and i can hear audio, i can also still control things, just not see them since the signal cuts out. The only way to get it back is to do a hard reset, the PC start back up without any problems and the monitors have signal again.

When i get into Windows i am met with this message: https://i.imgur.com/xvYMlkJ.png It is in Danish, but its basically just say "Display driver failed to start, using Microsoft basic driver, check for updates"

What i have done so far:

Updated NVIDIA drivers with DDU, meaning i fully uninstalled the old drivers before installing the newest ones.

Updated the BIOS

Changed PCI-E slot

Checked if the card is running hot, it is not, maxing out at 68c in Unigine Heaven.

Etc etc.

Anyone have any ideas what to do next? I dont really have another GPU to test with.

That’s an odd issue, though you’ve done basically what I’d do; I’d look at the connections physically on the card and maybe to the monitor;

not really sure what could cause that besides a funny cable or a funny fault with the cards outputs.

it does sound like the card though; I had an older one do the same; turned out; one of its outputs connections to the PCB were damaged somehow .

Dont think the cables are bad, would be a little odd if both failed at the same time. Starting to sadly think its some sort of hardware fault, maybe with my 970. Only thing i havent done is do a full clean Windows 10 install, but still doesnt make alot of sense to me.

It’s very likely the card, I had an old card do similar, though; it’s output died between its port and the PCB.

but mine picked up the card I had fine; most of the time.
