Other than not having a Z270 board, it seems good/overkill I guess

I personally don't get why you went for a b250 motherboard and then buy a unlocked cpu but ok

Not technically how you Linus, but I would recommend a few things:

  • Change the B250 motherboard to a Z270 or go Z370 and get an 8700/8700K
  • You won't be able to use both the 1080 and RX 570 in the same machine unless you're doing GPU computations or running virtualized gaming rigs.
  • I would personally change the cooler to a higher end air cooler such as the Dark Rock Pro 3.

The motherboard was the only one working within  250 miles unfourtently.

I use the rx570 for video rendering while I'm gaming. The ram is what's supported by the board 2133 ghz. The ram technically is 3000mhz but the board underclocks it to 2133.

The cooler seems to be doing fine. Temps never get above 50c

And untill I get a 300 series chipset board the i7 8700k is out of the question.

I had a z370 but it decided to die in under a year on me.

The chipset doesn't do, so why should it?

....Why didn't you just say that in the first place. and if you know that the board doesn't last long why tf would you do it? (exspecting you don't have all the money to spare and buy new boards)

Because it's fun. Going in ant tweaking each individual thing is what I like to do. Besides that was the first board I actually fried that way.
