Hi All,

I am planning to build a cheap gaming rig from scratch so will need peripherals too. But I am struggling as I usually only build high end rigs with the best you can buy at the time so finding it hard to get a good balance of cheap but reasonably powerful to play Source engine games and basic use. Garrys Mod and CSGO.

Could anyone help? I was thinking of the 1030 GTX for the GPU and for the case a Corsair Red Carbide SPEC 04 but I am simply stuck on what CPU and therefore what mobo to get, power supply was guessing around a 430W maybe a 500W and peripherals I don't even know what to get when cheap, but ideally gaming style if possible.

All help appreciated.

Not sure exactly of price range for this all yet so ideas will help me get a rough range. Sorry.

Ryzen 3 2200G will do. The 1030 is so weak as a graphics card, use either a used 750ti or dont use a graphics card at all. 2400G is also viable, though I dont think it's fast enough to justify the price.

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

Well the 2400g is faster than the 1030 for a 169, while a 1030 alone costs around a 100, plus a r5 1500x for a 150, in total 250 for less graphical performance.

So the 2400g is definately the best choice for gaming.

So I could get a PSU around 450 for that then, what ideas for peripherals obviously 1080p at this point but finding cheaper stuff can sometimes mean it breaks easily etc?
