Laptop needed for professional work

Hey - it's been a while since I last visited, glad to be back.

After my trusty Dell Inspiron 7537 died tonight, I am on the hunt for a new laptop. My current laptop featured an older 2014-ish Intel i7, 16gb RAM and a 250gb Samsung SSD. I am looking for a similar laptop to replace it.

I am known to have around 10 word documents open at once, whilst using chrome for information and simultaneously streaming video or listening to music. My requirements are:

- decent battery life (4/5+ hours heavy usage)

- around £1000 gbp

- at least 8gb of ram

- preferably a SATA interface so I could use my old SSD

- metal chassis

Thank you very much in advance for any suggestions. I've been out of the technology industry to long to even know where to begin!

Hey - I'd only be using manufacturers websites or UK amazon (amazon.co.uk) or ebuyer.com - thank you.

Here's what I found. For this budget you can have lots of great options.

Excellent:

Dell XPS 13

Asus UX330UA

Lenovo Ideapad 720S 13/14 (15 inch model if you need more performance)

Acer Spin 5 13 (15 inch model if you need more performance)

Acer Swift 5 (battery life is OKish due to thin profile, however it can meet your expectations)

Lenovo Yoga 720 13

Asus UX310UA

Good:

Acer Swift 3 14

HP Envy x360 15

Lenovo Ideapad 520S (mix of plastic and metal chassis, still rigid)

Also look at business orientated laptops, they are usually more reliable:

-Lenovo Thinkpad T480/T580 (need customization which may over budget), X280, L380/L480/L580, E480/E580

-Dell Latitude 5490/5590

Edit: Make sure it has 8250U/8550U CPU and SSD. i5 and i7 don't matter much in ULV CPU BTW.
