I have a msi armour 4x 480 that works in one machine but wont work in another.

the rig i want it to work in has a i5 2400, 8 gigs of ram and a 500 watt psu with 35 amps

on the 12 volt rail so i know its getting plenty of power to run the card.

It boots up fine with the on board graphics. I have tried everything, taking out the cmos

battery, clearing cmos, testing the ram 2 x 4. watched countell youtube so called fixes.

and nothing will work. tried changing cables out. all my cables are good.

but as soon as i install the gpu nothing will boot up. Ive gone in the bios and changed

the display to boot from the gpu but it does nothing.

so anyone have any other ideas.

Do all the LEDs and stuff turn on?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Could you post more info on the i5-2400 PC? Is it a prebuilt OEM PC (Like HP, Medion, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) or custom built?

Which exact PSU (make and model, not just wattage) and motherboard do you have? Is the BIOS up-to-date?

The problem with Sandy Bridge systems can be that when your BIOS is out-of-date, it won't accept cards that don't have the older VBIOS standard.

All GPUs since 2016 are 100% (U)EFI only, so your board needs to support that. Many OEM boards from the time don't.
