I’m working on my build right and trying to figure out if an Asus Maximus X Apex (E-ATX) will slot into a Corsair Obsidian 500d. Corsair says it’ll support a E-ATX up to a 272mm and the specs on the Apex says it’s 12”x10.7” (271.78mm?) However, the specs on the Apex aren’t directly from from ASUS, their site won’t pull up the specs.

Also, sites that assist with compatibility don’t seem to show them as compatible. I can’t even seem to find the board on pcpartpicker. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I've noticed that sometimes Asus product pages don't display properly. https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-APEX/specifications/ lists the board dimensions as "12 inch x 10.7 inch ( 30.5 cm x 27.2 cm ) X-SHAPED PCB". If you look carefully at a picture you should note that the edges between the corners are indented a bit. Presumably the specs list outer dimensions.

It appears that the spec page at least differs by country.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Cool, thanks for that.

If they are both e-atx they'll probably be fine , even if they aren't break out the cutting wheel and make them fine.

Always have my dremel at the ready!

I suppose worse I send the Mobo back because the specs don’t line up. Thanks!
