headphones repair

so my friend has broken his headphones... again...

so the cable is detachable. the part that you connect the cable is broken (circled in red) i checked the cable is not faulty. i also tested the headphones with other cables and the issue persists.

my plan is to cut the red circled male jack and the female jack on the other cable (circled in green), soldering the wires together and covering it up with black sugru glue so it doesn't look ugly.

what do you think?

 

 

btw I put this in peripherals and not audio since it has to do with fixing headphones. not choosing the right ones or other stuff
