My friend has a problem with windows 8. He tried to download the most recent update but it keeps giving a certain error code that says "0x80070004". Is there anyway to fix this? By the way his computer is locked to a temporary profile that doesn't allow him any admin preferences or settings or even continue the windows 8.1 download.

The only thing I can think of is to maybe reinstall Windows 8 but wait and see what everyone else says first. Also if you want more help maybe mention Windows 8 error in your title but it's too late now. Maybe next time (:

dont use windows 8

 

 

 

you have to delete your old copy of 8 and reinstall everything i would recommend putting all your need stuff on another hard drive and then reinstalling the new version

dont use windows 8

gaming hates windows 8, just stick with linux or windows 7 their the best and theres no denying it unless windows gets their shit together and makes a good system for gaming. also im sure there will be a oirt for windows 7 of halo

Thanks for the quick answers. from what everyone is saying, it sounds like he may just have to reinstall Windows on the machine. Any thing else he may be able to do to fix this just in case?
